Food Supply Chain

Contained Technology along with its consortium is working to develop a testbed in the food sector with a particular focus on the fresh and perishable part of the market. The ambition of this testbed is to facilitate collaboration through the development of secure and permission led digital tools and services. This strategy is based on the data trust framework model that has been developed as part of various research projects with the Food Standards including the DSCH open call project, proposing a road map for supply chain collaboration. The testbed will also integrate Contained.io's BlueRing data exchange platform.

Hydrogen Supply Chain

Hydrologiq is working to develop a testbed in the emerging hydrogen supply chain. The aims of the testbed are to enable collaboration between supply chain and end customers by managing disparate data in a central, transparent and extensible platform. This will improve sustainability by allowing processes to be modelled and impact to be assessed, drive down costs through demand aggregation and build better supply chain resilience.

Textiles Supply Chain

Circle-8 Textile Ecosystems is working to develop a testbed with its consortium partners to support the redirection of 400,000+ tonnes of low value, non-reusable textiles from landfill and export into UK based textile recycling plants by 2030. This testbed project will support the transition to a circular supply chain and advance tier partner competitiveness and enterprise value-addition, though the optimisation of working capital, transport and other logistics, by creating improved visibility across the chain from basic sorter and reseller to recycler with always on spec-compliant input supply, and product passport technology providing a chain of ownership/transaction flow, provenance-assurance, and cumulative environmental metrics to boost sustainability.

Spares Supply Chain

NBT group are leading a consortium who will collaborate to create a testbed environment which enables modelling of spares supply chains and the testing of new and emerging technology solutions capability to deliver a more sustainable business and deliver performance improvement. The testbed will support the development of a sector agnostic digital twin of an entire spare parts supply chain available to any interested party. NBT’s 2021 Innovate UK funded Feasibility Study informed the need for testbeds, revealing 90%+ of all emissions are Scope 3 within an organisation’s supply chain. The development of this testbed will allow for modelling which will evaluate measures/effects of collaboration to improve sustainability, circular economy modelling and impacts of utilising new technologies such as additive manufacturing.
