UK Supply Chain Survey 2024

Supply chains need our help

We’re living in a world in which demand and supply are out of balance. Factors such as climate change, geopolitical turmoil and soaring energy prices have all exposed the fragility of global supply chains. It is now more essential than ever that we leverage digital technology to help us build more sustainable, flexible and resilient supply chains that remain strong in the face of external challenges.

To that end, we have conducted a survey of supply chain professionals from both manufacturers and the technology solution providers who supply them. This survey explores their views on the digitalisation of supply chains in the UK.

Resilient supply chains

New manufacturer research from Digital Catapult

Digital Catapult has conducted its own research for the Digital Supply Chain Hub into the topic, uncovering organisations’ attitudes towards the digital transformation of supply chains, surveying the following groups:

  • 502 Supply Chain Managers, Supply Chain Directors, Procurement Leads and Logistics Managers in large manufacturing businesses
  • 502 Managing Directors, CEOs, Tech Suppliers, other Directors, Business Development Leads in small to medium manufacturing businesses

Based on the findings, in chapter one this interactive report reveals organisations’ top priorities and interests when it comes to digitalising their supply chains, the barriers preventing them from achieving digital transformation and levels of investment in this area.

Resilient supply chains

New technology survey for the Digital Supply Chain Hub

In chapter two we also explore insights from an additional survey of 504 technology and innovation professionals to provide an understanding of their experiences of delivering digital supply chain solutions to their clients. This includes the challenges technology companies face when bidding for digital transformation projects.

We trust that the research will provide a useful overview of the current climate in respect of digitalising global supply chains. Explore the findings in the report below.
